Open Restricted Access Barrier System

Open-RABS protects aseptic equipment and tools within the scope by forming an air flow barrier between the core area and the background area. The operator may only perform intervention with glove box, to prevent the risk caused by direct interference to the aseptic open area. Open-RABS background area is of Class B cleanness which allows for the operator’s entry. Open-RABS may be provided with air speed, differential pressure, cleanness and other online monitoring devices.

Close–RABS has substantially identical air flow design, cleaning procedures and material transfer mode with those of isolators; however, the control of pressure and airtightness inside the system is less stringent than that of the isolator. 

Close-RABS background area is of Class B cleanness which allows for the operator’s entry.
